This sanctuary was born of a dream shared by my husband and me—a quiet place grounded in love, purpose, and connection to the land. We built more than a home; we created a life—meaningful, full of merriment, and wrapped in the kind of stillness that lets your soul breathe.
Everything changed when he passed away. Yet in that passage came one final gift: the courage to speak about death, to face it with grace, and to prepare for it with love. He taught me that dying is not the opposite of living—it is part of it. And that the most compassionate thing we can do is to have those hard conversations with the people we love. To say what we want. To listen. To plan. To make peace.
Now, as I walk this path with my brother—my closest friend and confidant—I carry those lessons forward. Wings of Kritter Ridge is more than a location; it is a living promise: to live purposefully, love fiercely, and leave nothing unsaid.
This is a video I made for a class on public speaking about end of life conversations that I thought I would share here.
